It has been a solid two weeks and exciting stuff has happened in my life.

First off, I have started writing for the Electronic Dance Blog called Electrojams.com. So far I have only published two articles and one is awaiting publication. (Yes Glen, this will be about Apprehension!)

The other item I have been working on, is getting the Restricted Sessions podcast up and running.
I have created/registered the Restricted Sessions podcast channel at iTunes, and the channel is slowly getting filled.
The crew is psyched and we are filling it with as much interesting recordings of sets as possible.

We will also try to include the restricted Sessions webcasts as we broadcast on an almost weekly basis just for that extra bit of fun.

Not too long ago, me and my best friend Daniel started thinking about a project that had to do with vocals and harmony.

We decided back than, that we needed to go in deeper into Reaktor.
Since than, months have passed, and now Tim Exile comes along with this nice kit called ‘the Mouth’.

According to Native Instruments:

Electronic artist and innovator Tim Exile showcases “The Mouth” – a new software instrument that can turn any audio signal into music.

Sing, beatbox, or send a drum loop into it, and “The Mouth” comes to life as a highly expressive and somewhat unpredictable synthesizer, vocoder or talkbox-like instrument.

The Mouth can be used as a stand-alone application and as a plug-in in a DAW or host sequencer, covering all kinds of live performance and music production scenarios.

Omdat het dit jaar alweer drie jaar terug is, dat Daniel en ik de eerste Restricted Session, genaamd Private Minimal, op hadden genomen, leek het ons een geschikt moment om eens een kijkje te nemen naar deze DJset.

Na wat tracks te hebben gevonden op internet, besloten wij om een nieuwe echte Restricted Session te maken.
De volgende 17 tracks zijn in de selectie terechtgekomen.

Eindelijk weer eens een nieuwe Restricted Session voor het publiek!

Na wat kleine lokale succesjes te hebben gehad met de eerste twee Progressional Educational episodes, werd het tijd voor een nieuw hoofdstuk in deze reeks.
Dus doken we maar weer eens in de platen en draaide wij deze selectie in elkaar met behulp van de machtige BCR 2000.

Daniël en Ome Les zijn altijd weer aan het zoeken wat het thema kan zijn voor hun nieuwe Restricted Session dj set.

Deze keer kwamen zij op het idee om nou eens niet voor te luisteren, maar gewoon zo snel mogelijk een plaat gelijk te trekken.
Wat begon als een grap werd uiteindelijk nog een vrij nette mix, waarvan zij jullie het uiteindelijke resultaat niet wilden onthouden.
(Ook al vonden ze de mix niet zo strak als de voorgaande mixes)

Veel plezier met deze 77 minuten durende techhouse DJset getiteld, “Look mama! No headphones =)” .

Met rondstruinen op de forums van DJTechtools kan ik mij wel zoet houden.

Wat extra gaaf was, was het feit dat ik en Daniël mee konden doen aan de eerste DJTechtools mix session.
DJs van over de hele wereld deden mee aan de mix. Waarbij wij mochten afsluiten.

Aanvankelijk leek de mix sessie op niets uit te lopen aangezien het een paar keer behoorlijk de mist in ging, wie er nu aan de beurt was en waar de mix was blijven hangen. Er waren zelfs mensen die de eindspot wilde overnemen van mij, waarop mijn antwoord simpel was. “I end all there is.” Daarbij een kleine hint weggevende aan wat ik als laatste zou gebruiken.

Na het heft in handen te hebben genomen, hebben mensen hun ding gedaan en konden de mannen van Restricted aan de slag.
Het mixwerk achter de rug, besloot Ome Daniël, dat hij ook nog even de mastering op zich ging nemen. Geen slechte beslissing, aangezien de mix hierdoor aanzienlijk is opgeknapt.
